Can we score over obstacles at Catterick?
Today's Follow the Money movers come from the meetings at Catterick and Lingfield.
We starting with the 13:30 at Lingfield , a six furlong Handicap where Malaysian Boleyn has moved from 11.010/1 into 5.24/1. Simon Dow's three-year-old colt did not show much improvement when stepped up to seven furlongs on his last start - an increase that would seem the natural progression considering his pedigree. However, with a further 2lb drop and the in-form Hayley Turner on board we may well see the maiden status lost today.
To North Yorkshire now and Catterick's 14:10, a two mile Novices' Chase where Marie Des Anges has seen a lot of support moving from 2.47/5 in to 1.794/5. Anthony Honeyball's eight-year-old mare has made a great start to her career over fences, recording a win at the first attempt at Market Rasen in December. She also has decent form over hurdles, including a win on soft ground, so today's contest in similar conditions looks an ideal opportunity to take advantage over her older male rivals. Considering she has made a round trip of nearly 600 miles from her Dorest stable, connections expect it to be worthwhile.
Finally, we return to Lingfield for today's negative, where in the 15:10, a one mile two furlong Maiden Stakes, Hughie Morrison's Cousin Khee has been easy to back moving out from 2.25n/a to a current 3.259/4. The six-year-old gelding makes his flat debut today but is no stranger to the Polytrack with two wins under National Hunt rules both over two miles, the most recent two weeks ago. Cousin Khee is up against a field with flat form around today's distance and the lack of market confidence appears to suggest this is the case.
