Timeform UK SmartPlays: Tuesday December 4

Jeremy Noseda's Prophets Pride is fancied to go one better today

Horses racing at all three of today's meetings at Folkestone, Towcester and Wolverhampton come under the spotlight of the Timeform team.

Minella For Steak was purchased for 230,000 after winning a point in February 2011 and may well eventually live up to that price tag, but he faces a tough task on his first start under Rules today with Portrait Emotion (13:00 Folkestone) fancied to go one better than on his recent hurdling debut at Fontwell. Headed only late on there, he's also a point winner and although only costing his connections just €3,000, he looks set to improve on that effort having already proved that this sort of test (two and a half miles on testing ground) is right up his street.

Richard Woollacott is making his way up the professional training ranks at a rapid rate and can further add to his tally with Angles Hill (13:50 Towcester), who is attempting to get off the mark over hurdles after a series of placed efforts. Formerly trained in Ireland, his recent second behind the highly-regarded Buck Magic in a competitive Cheltenham handicap is easily the best form on show here and further progress is not hard to envisage.

Representatives from the Jeremy Noseda stable are always worth having a close look at in all-weather races at this time of year and his Sakhee colt Prophets Pride (15:10 Wolverhampton) holds strong claims of getting off the mark at the second attempt having shown plenty of promise behind the well-backed Yarroom in a C&D event last month. The latter's yard are represented here by Minimee, who looks the main danger, but Prophets Pride finished a decisive runner-up on debut and looks the one to be on.
