Flemenstar is on the drift in the Lexus Chase
Today's Follow The Money movers come from the meetings at Lingfield and Leopardstown...
We start off at Lingfield in the 13:00 1m Handicap where David Simcock's Whispering Warrior has been backed in from 7.613/2 to 3.9n/a. He was with Jeremy Noseda for his first three starts, his best effort was sixth of 14 in a decent contest at Newmarket in May. Today sees his handicap debut and he's off a modest mark. If he improves, and this move suggests it's expected, he could well get his head in front.
Staying at Lingfield in the 15:00 1m Maiden Stakes there have been a few movers but it's Charles Hill's Garrison that has seen the biggest move, 6.05/1 into 2.747/4. He's done very little in his only three starts but a break from racing and now a gelding should work in his favour against a much weaker field than previously faced.
Finally we're over in Ireland and the feature race at Leopardstown, the Lexus Chase (15:00 Grade One), where favourite Flemenstar has drifted from 2.3411/8 out to 2.8415/8. He's won his last seven races but today sees him attempt half a mile further than any of those. His main rival, Sir Des Champs, although second to him last time out has won over slightly longer than today's distance and Tidal Bay will run and run. Flemenstar is clearly the best horse in the field but the money suggests this one might not fall into place.
