Timeform preview a race from Lingfield on Thursday
With Exeter in doubt at the time of writing, Timeform offer a runner-by-runner guide to a competitive seven-furlong handicap at Lingfield...
Bayleyf improved throughout 2011, winning 6f nursery at Glorious Goodwood. Not so good this time around, soundly beaten last 4 starts, and tongue tie now on on return from break.
Shahzan matched form of 6f Doncaster maiden win when placed at Kempton (7f) (finished strongly from a poor position). Good third over C&D next time and sound claims.
Ertikaan produced a series of respectable efforts in handicaps this year and ended losing run in 6f claimer at Kempton last time. Shortlisted on debut for new yard.
Prince of Burma improved for fitting of blinkers to land a couple of 1m handicaps in January and entitled to come on from recent return from a break.
Kickingthelilly was a three-time winner on polytrack, including over C&D, though wellbeing to prove having not been seen since shaping amiss in June.
Quasi Congaree scored at Newmarket last year but operating just below his best this term, and failed to get back on track with cheekpieces applied in Ascot handicap when last seen in July for Ian Wood.
Crew Cut gained a second career success at Bath in June, and fair efforts in defeat since, better than bare result of late. Yard gone while without winner, though.
Blue Jack showed that he's still capable of useful form when runner-up in Newbury handicap in April. Gone off the boil since but potentially well handicapped on debut for new yard.
Cut Across made a winning debut in 5f maiden here and off the mark in handicaps when winning at Wolverhampton over this trip. Good second there last time and remains relatively unexposed.
Summerinthecity was a pretty useful handicapper at his peak, successful twice in handicaps for different yards over 6f. Inauspicious start in 2 AW outings for this yard.
Warfare is a polytrack winner who scored at Ascot (1m) in May, and signs of a return to form of late, though did fail to convince with attitude when third here last time.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Shahzan
2. Ertikaan
3. Crew Cut
Timeform View: Shahzan has been running well of late and is fancied to come out on top at the main expense of Ertikaan and Crew Cut.
