The Lions are set to roar again this afternoon
Mike Norman believes Millwall are the team to follow today; unbeaten in 12 games, not conceding goals, and full of confidence being our man's reasons for the selection...
Millwall 2.0811/10 v Charlton 3.8514/5; The Draw 3.711/4
Millwall have quietly made their way to fifth in the Championship table after a remarkable run of results that easily makes them the outstanding form side in the division.
The last time the Lions tasted defeat was way back in September when they went down to then league leaders Brighton, prompting odds of 65.064/1 to be offered about Kenny Jackett's men in the Promotion market. They are now available to back at just 6.611/2 after taking 19 points from the last 21 available to them.
Millwall's unbeaten run now stands at 12 games and they've won their last three without conceding a single goal, against Leeds, Blackburn and Wolves no less. They've conceded just two goals in their last seven games in fact, suggesting their success is built on a very strong and organised defence.
The Lions face another in-form London side today but the feeling is that the Addicks have had some kind fixtures of late; their three most recent wins came against Bristol City, Burnley and Peterborough. Millwall are a cracking price to keep their winning run going.
Recommended Bet: Back Millwall to win @ 2.0811/10 (Best Bet)
Nottm Forest 2.526/4 v Hull 3.185/40; The Draw 3.412/5
Forest go into this game on the back of a very disappointing loss to Ipswich in midweek and many will fancy them to bounce back with a victory. But their recent home form has been far from inspiring, registering just two wins from their last seven games at the City Ground, and today they face one of the best organised defences in the division.
True, Hull are a bit hit and miss, recording two or three consecutives losses before going on a three or four game unbeaten run, but when they are in top form they are as good a side as any in the Championship with players from all over the field being able to pitch in with a goal or two.
The Tigers were at their defensive best in keeping out high-flying Crystal Palace on Tuesday night and they are currently on a run of three wins on the road from their last four away games.
I'm of the opinion that Forest are often over bet, generally because of their reputation, but we mustn't forget they were a very poor side last season and for me, haven't improved that much this term. If Hull are at their best they should win this.
Recommended Bet: Back Hull to win @ 3.185/40
Peterborough 3.259/4 v Blackpool 2.265/4; The Draw 3.814/5
Is your glass half full or is it half empty? That's the way many Blackpool fans will be looking at Michael Appleton's start to his new role as Tangerines boss. On the plus side, they are unbeaten under Appleton, but if you take the opposite view, then Blackpool are without a win under their new boss, courtesy of four consecutive draws.
Blackpool have no problems scoring goals and I imagine they are most punters' bankers when it comes to a Both teams to Score selection, but defensively they keep shipping silly goals which is costing them vital points. In fact, Blackpool have registered just one clean sheet from their last 16 league games.
Today's opposition are Peterborough, a side that have kept just two clean sheets all term, and unlike the Posh side from the previous two seasons, they are struggling for goals. Gone are the 4-3 defeats and the 3-2 wins, the eight-goal thrillers etc, it's just 2-1, 2-0 and 1-0 defeats for Darren Ferguson's men these days (eight of their last nine league defeats have been by one of these scorelines).
Posh have failed to score a goal in just under 40% of their games this season, so assuming Blackpool get their usual goal or two then that should put them in a great position to earn Appleton his first win in charge.
Recommended Bet: Back Blackpool to win @ 2.265/4
