Djibril Cisse looks set to start again versus Aston Villa
After perusing the Opta stats, Christian Crowther chooses four Premier League marksman to get behind this weekend...
Liverpool v Southampton (Saturday, 15:00)
Luis Suarez is not only the league's top scorer with 10 goals, but he has created the most scoring chances for team-mates from open play (34)
Suarez, who else? That is precisely Liverpool's problem this season, no one but the lively Uruguayan is prepared to chip in with any goals of their own. Next up is Southampton at home, which is the kind of game Liverpool fans should be fantasising about, though more often than not the Reds fail to deliver that crushing home victory that the Anfield support crave. The recent 3-0 win over Wigan suggests they are capable of more but, if anyone is going to do it, it's Liverpool's number seven.
Recommended Bet: Back Luis Suarez to score @ 1.8910/11
Arsenal v Swansea (Saturday, 15:00)
Theo Walcott has scored nine goals in his last 11 matches in all competitions for Arsenal
Another player delivering more than his fair share of goals to the cause is Arsenal's winger-come-striker-come-attacking-midfielder Walcott. The irony of course is that what is quickly turning in to Walcott's most prolific spell in a Gunners shirt might soon come to an end if he can't agree a new contract. For now though, Theo is banging them in just like a proper striker ought to, with ten goals across all competitions to date. Arsene Wenger take note.
Recommended Bet: Back Theo Walcott to score @ 2.915/8
QPR v Aston Villa (Saturday, 15:00)
Djibril Cisse has scored four goals in six Premier League appearances against Aston Villa; more than against any other team in the competition
It's fair to say that no player in the QPR dressing room has covered themselves in glory to date but, with a new manager in the dugout, this could be about to change. After all, Harry Redknapp is the famous motivator of men, especially in a situation containing the grim air of inescapability. A flurry of goals (and red cards) followed Cisse's January arrival last season and, with two to his name this time around - and injuries to Bobby Zamora and Andrew Johnson - the Frenchman looks certain to make it six starts in a row.
Recommended Bet: Back Djibril Cisse to score @ 2.77/4
Newcastle v Wigan (Monday, 20:00, Sky Sports 1)
Since Papiss Demba Cisse joined, Newcastle have played 29 Premier League games with Cisse scoring 15 goals and Demba Ba nine, but they have only netted in the same game twice
Aside from a rather fortuitous Premier League goal off his derriere against West Brom, Cisse had looked a shadow of the 2011/12 goal-of-the-season scorer who arrived in January. However, against Stoke in midweek, the Senegalese centre forward finally reacquainted himself with a meaningful strike as he rattled one in off the post for only his second league goal of the season. That should serve to reignite the player we all want to see scoring stunners again this term.
Recommended Bet: Back Papiss Cisse to score @ 2.6613/8
