Gordon has runners in England and Ireland today
Oscar Hill returns to the UK seeking his third win in-a-row; while Dont Back Down and Karinga Queen make their way to Clonmel for Thursday's domestic action...
13.30 Leicester - Oscar Hill
He's in great form at the moment and we hope we can continue to raid a few prizes here and there as opportunities present themselves. Some of the races he's been in haven't been the best in terms of quality but he's getting the job done and he has solid claims once again. It's was suggested that he could go back into handicaps, but I still think his mark is a little on the high side and we are going to keep going with him as we are for now. He likes going right-handed and the ground conditions should not be a problem so I'm expecting another big run today.
14.15 Clonmel - Dont Back Down
He was going well before he fell in a beginners chase at Clonmel last time and while it was disappointing to see him take a tumble, it was encouraging to see him race reasonably well up to that point. I was fairly pleased with his fourth place in a similar race at Thurles previously and he remains open to improvement. He's in good form at home and while the trip might be on the short side today, he's in with a decent each-way chance.
15.15 Clonmel - Karinga Queen
This will be her third time racing for our yard. It was great to see her win at Perth in her first race for us in May although she duly went up quite a bit in the ratings afterwards. She was a little below form at Kilbeggan back in June (sixth of 12 runners) and this is her first outing since then. She faces a stiff enough task this afternoon but it will be good to get her back racing and she should come on for the run.
