Transfer Talk: Liverpool eyeing up La Liga striker

Is Louis van Gaal eyeing up a new right-back?

It isn't the big names today but are the following players ones we'll learn in time?

Liverpool will look to add to their forward options in the summer by trying to sign Luciano Vietto from Spanish club Villarreal.

The Argentine striker has impressed since making the move from his homeland in August, netting 16 times already this season, but his performances have not gone unnoticed, with a number of clubs thought to be interested.

According to quotes attributed to his agent Jorge Cysterpiller in Spanish newspaper AS, the Reds are one of the teams to have shown an interest in him, although with him said to have a release clause of just 10m euros, Real Madrid are also thought to be assessing his situation.

Some more news from Spain and Manchester United are being linked with a move for Porto defender Danilo, who they feel could solve their current woes at right-back.

An injury to Rafael has seen winger Antonio Valencia forced to play in defence this season but Louis van Gaal is thought to be looking to upgrade and sees the Brazilian as the answer to his prayers.

Sport are reporting that the Red Devils are in talks with the Portuguese outfit over a potential deal and are not put off by his 37m release clause, although Real Madrid and Barcelona are also known to be keen.

Looking north of the border, the Glasgow Evening Times says John Guidetti is set to reject a permanent move to Celtic in favour of a return to Dutch outfit Feyenoord.

With his chances of becoming a regular at Manchester City further dwindling by every transfer window, the Swede is now looking to find a new home and the Bhoys are keen to sign him on a long-term deal.

However, Feyenoord, whom he spent the 2011-12 campaign with, are now set to pounce and its believed he would favour a return to Rotterdam over a stay in Scotland.

Finally, according to the Daily Mirror, Queens Park Rangers have opened contract talks with youngster Darnell Furlong in a bid to halt interest from a number of other Premier League clubs.

The 19-year-old made his debut for the R's last month and has since been linked with Newcastle, Sunderland, West Brom and Hull, who are keen to take advantage of his situation at Loftus Road, with his current deal set to expire in the summer.

QPR chairman Tony Fernandes has now opened talks over a new contract with Furlong, whose father Paul previously played as a striker for the club, as he looks to reinvigorate his side with homegrown players.
