Football Bet of the Day: Red Devils caught up in Black Sea Storm

However hard they try Trabzonspor just can't seem to avoid Over 2.5 Goals at the moment

The Mersin Arena won't know what's hit it when Trabzonspor - and Tobias Gourlay - blow into town this evening

Mersin Idman Yurdu v Trabzonspor
Monday 18:00

Kevin lashed home a fourth big winner of the week as Panathinaikos sneaked past PAOK 4-3 in Athens last night.

Not since we wrote a column announcing his arrival on the world stage after an especially prolific 2009 European U21 Championship has anyone been so pleased or impressed with Marcus Berg. If only someone - anyone - had actually been there to see it.

But what Kevin did for Greece, we want to do for Turkey.

The usual big three are away and clear in this season's Super Lig, leaving the rest to scrap over a single European place.

Both sixth-placed Trabzonspor - who will take over in fourth with a win this evening - and their hosts, seventh-placed Mersin Idman Yurdu, look up for the fight.

Riza Calimbay's Mersin have seen goals at both ends in 7/8 home matches, with Over 2.5 Goals in 5/8.

Having scored twice or more in 7/9 at the Mersin Arena - and with 22 goals in 10 outings since the start of the season - they are the Super Lig's most potent home side.

At the other end, however, they've managed just a single clean sheet in eight attempts.

Ersun Yanal's Trabzonspor have the firepower to blast through that weak defence. The Black Sea Storm have seen Over 2.5 Goals in 15/18 home and away. On the road, they've seen both teams score in each of their last four trips to teams from outside the big three.
