Goias are worth taking on tonight
There's plenty of action from Brazil's top flight tonight and Paul Robinson thinks Goias are worth opposing at odds-on for the visit of Vitoria BA.
Goias had a great campaign last year to finish sixth, missing out on a chance to qualify for the Copa Libertadores by only two points. They have begun this season in a fabulous fashion too as after seven fixtures they have picked up 14 points to sit in third place.
Ricardo Drubscky's side picked up seven of those points at home - from a possible nine - and while there is no denying that their form in front of their own fans is very good, even when they were going great guns last term, their win percentage was only 50%.
The main reason for this selection though is their opponents Vitoria BA. The Salvadoran outfit gave this column a winner on Sunday night as they avoided defeat at Botafogo and I strongly believe that they can continue their decent run of results on the road.
Prior to that draw at the weekend, 'Leo da Barra' had lost two games in a row at Barrado, however away from home they are undefeated in three - drawing at Botafogo and Bahia, and winning at Fluminense. It was a similar story for them last year as well as the fifth place finishers avoided defeat in eight of their 11 away fixtures from September onwards.
The draw is the most likely result for my money, so with Goias trading at around the 1.9310/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
