The Hamilton fans might be drowning their sorrows come 10pm
Dumbarton travel to Hamilton in the Scottish First Division this evening and while the home side are odds-on, Paul Robinson thinks Dumbarton can earn a positive result.
Hamilton have slipped to eighth in the table after picking up just two wins from their last 10 matches. By a quirk of the fixtures, they played Dumbarton at home on Saturday and lost 3-2. Gary Fisher was sent off for The Accies in the first half which didn't help, but they were already 1-0 down.
That loss was their second in a row at New Douglas Park and while they have a three point gap and two games in hand over Cowdenbeath behind them, they aren't quite safe yet. Billy Reid will be looking for a vital victory tonight as they would move up to seventh, but I'm not too confident about their chances and certainly not at odds-on.
Dumbarton were promoted to this division via the play-offs and after a shocking start to their campaign - five points from a possible 39 - Ian Murray was appointed as player/manager. Results improved straightaway and they are now seventh in the league with 33 points.
The Sons have won their last three on the trot, scoring 11 goals in the process. They produced a magnificent comeback at Dunfermline and at home to Raith, before despatching Hamilton last time. They've lost just three of their previous 11 on the road, winning seven of them and firing in goals for fun.
I simply can't have Hamilton at around the 1.9520/21 mark given Dumbarton's away form, and that's why I have to make them my lay of the day.
