Champion Four Year Old Hurdle: Timeform's runner-by-runner guide

Punchestown's festival ends on Saturday

Timeform take you through the six runners for this feature on the final day of the Punchestown Festival.

Blood Cotil won his first 2 starts on coming over from France, including a Leopardstown Grade 2. Not disgraced in defeat since, sixth under top weight in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham last time.

Diakali proved useful up to 1m on Flat and impressive when winning first 2 starts over hurdles. Couple of creditable efforts behind Our Conor in Grade 1s last 2 starts and the one to beat in first-time hood.

Djakadam is an ex-French gelding who has made all to land odds at Gowran (maiden) and Limerick (minor event) in February/March. Good second to One Fine Day in Fairyhouse Grade 3 earlier this month.

Dogora won first 2 starts over hurdles on coming over from France and good placed efforts in Graded events at Fairyhouse on last 2 starts, though behind a couple of these rivals on those occasions.

Stocktons Wing is a useful juvenile who made the breakthrough at Graded level when beating Dogora 2 lengths at Fairyhouse in February, but does need to bounce back from poor run in Triumph since.

One Fine Day is a useful performer on Flat who showed improved when defeating Djakadam and Dogora in 2m Fairyhouse Grade 3 at the start of this month. Will probably need to improve again to follow up here.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Diakali
2. Blood Cotil
3. One Fine Day

Timeform view: Diakali has no Our Conor to contend with now and can provide the Walsh/Mullins team with another winner. Stablemate Blood Cotil could be the one for the forecast.
