Against All Odds: After the Lord Mayor's show for BVB

The Dortmund players will have one eye on Tuesday

Dortmund all but booked their place in the Champions League final in the week but it's back to reality today as they travel to Fortuna Dusseldorf and Paul Robinson thinks that those who tune into Betfair Live Video at 17:30 could be in for a surprise.

Fortuna Dusseldorf are fighting for their top flight survival after being promoted from the Bundesliga Two last season. With just four games remaining, they are one place and three points clear of Augsburg who currently occupy the relegation play-off place.

Norbert Meier's side find themselves in this position after going without a win for eight matches - picking up a mere three draws. Their defensive record hadn't been too bad earlier in the campaign but they've started conceding a few too many goals recently and the back four will have their work cut out to stifle a free-scoring Dortmund.

Looking at their record at home though and there is cause for optimism. F95 have only lost four times at the Esprit Arena this year and just twice in their last eight. After a run of five victories in six, things have admittedly turned in the last month as they've picked up just two points from a possible nine, however the loss was against third placed Bayer Leverkusen.

Borussia Dortmund are on cloud nine after thrashing Real Madrid in the week and all but securing their place in the Champions League final at Wembley. Jurgen Klopp's men were hugely impressive all over the field but it was of course Robert Lewandowski who stole the headlines thanks to his four goals - two of which were absolutely superb.

The Borussians won't be retaining their domestic title though as Bayern Munich already have that sewn up. Fortunately they don't have any pressure from behind as there is an eight point gap to third and their final four Bundesliga fixtures will likely be geared towards tuning up for their European outings.

While BVB have a 4-1 lead over Madrid, they still have to complete the job in Spain and that match is coming up on Tuesday. It is highly likely that Klopp will give some of his star men the evening off today and that could open up the door for Fortuna to get a result.

The hosts need all the points they can get to preserve their top flight status and while Dortmund are flying, they have bigger fish to fry. That's why, with Dortmund trading at around the 1.768/11 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.
