Whatever the fate of the afternoon's jumps cards, Lingfield all-weather will keep the show on the road with a full eight-race card underway before midday. Feature is the six-furlong handicap at 14.25 in which the relatively unexposed three-year-old Mezzotint may well start favourite. He won last time out but that was back in the summer and he now wears a hood for the first time. His rivals are rather more seasoned, but the six-year-old Bajan Tryst makes appeal against him. Bajan Tryst shaped well after a short break at Kempton last time and, having been out of sorts earlier in the year, has dropped to a favourable mark. Conditions should be ideal.

Mezzotint's trainer Marco Botti may enjoy better fortune in the maiden at 13.25 with Groove On. He shaped well on his recent debut at Kempton, travelling well but lacking know-how when shaken up to challenge, having had to wait for a run. Groove On was keeping on at the finish without being knocked about and will know more this time. He could well improve enough to get the better of the more exposed Martial Art (disappointing when odds on for a similar race last time) and Maid A Million.
