Premier League Results: Spurs keep it clean at home to take hold of fourth

You've gotta have a Belgian this year

Tottenham rise to fourth after a slim home win over Swansea as Jan Vertonghen becomes the latest Belgian to wow the Premier League

Tottenham endured a nervy afternoon at White Hart Lane, leaving it late to score a winner and somehow not conceding in the final ten minutes as Swansea threatened.

In Christian Benteke, Marouanne Fellaini and Eden Hazard, Belgians are all the rage in the Premier League and Spurs' very own man from the land of Eddy Merckx, Tintin and Jean Claude van Damme did the business to delight the Lilywhites faithful.

The 25-year-old rewarded his first goalscorer backers at 26.025/1 after steering the ball past Gerhard Tremmel in the 75th minute, at which point Tottenham had drifted to 3.39/4 on the exchange.

The win takes Spurs level on points with Chelsea and two clear of Everton in fifth. Andre Villas-Boas' men are 2.1211/10 to finish in the top four.
