The all-weather at Lingfield - handy when the heavens have opened
Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Towcester and Lingfield.
Our first mover is today's negative in Towcester's 13.10 contest where Thorncliffer has been easy to back having drifted out from an early 2.6413/8 to 3.39/4. Derek Shaw's eight-year-old was winning for the first time when successful at Wetherby earlier this month off a lowly mark. A 5lb rise in the weights will make things more difficult today so a lay looks the call with his overall record not pointing to a repeat of that winning effort.
To Lingfield for our next selection where Bowstar has been a solid market leader in the 13.30 maiden and is now trading at 3.39/4 from 4.94/1. This one has the highest official rating in a modest race and has not been beaten far over today's trip on her last two starts including in handicap company. In the absence of her rivals having any worthwhile form today could be the day for Bowstar.
Also at Lingfield we have our final mover in the 14.30 where there has been some interest for Kampai from 9.417/2 in to 7.413/2. Following a decent win over today's course in an amateur riders event two starts ago she was far from disgraced when running off a higher mark last time. The slightly longer trip this afternoon looks likely to suit and with Adam Beschizza taking over in the saddle a big run looks on the cards.
