I'm A Celebrity Betting: Bristow set to check out of the jungle

Not sure we'll miss that face

There are just a few days left for the jungle contestants with evictions every night until Saturday's final. Simon Hopper looks at Thursday's eviction where Eric Bristow heads the market

It's been a crazy series of IACGMOOH for punters. First we had ante-post favourite Brian Conley withdrawing on medical grounds just nine days in, then late entry Rosemary Shrager was backed in to 2.568/5 before surprisingly getting booted off. And now, in Ashley Roberts, we've got a jolly who once traded as high as 95.094/1! Hugo Taylor was voted off last night so with just four campmates remaining, here's my take on all of them ahead of tonight's elimination:

Eric Bristow (Elimination odds 2.0621/20): Eric's been in the bottom two twice in the last four days and the darts legend has turned into something of a snappy character as the weeks have gone on. Last night's elimination of his mate Hugo won't help him either, as he doesn't have any genuine chemistry with any of the three remaining campmates. At 55 he's easily the oldest contestant left and in recent years IACGMOOH voters have lent firmly towards the younger generation so I'm worried for him tonight.

David Haye 3.814/5: David was in the bottom two last night, which was a surprise as he has come across really well and had traded as short as 2.942/1 to win the thing at one point. He's still 3.953/1 second favourite in the winner market so punters clearly can't make up their mind about the former heavyweight champ. Interestingly, not a single contestant has been in the bottom two on consecutive occasions this series, so based on that trend he should get an increased amount of votes tonight. For that reason I think he'll stay.

Charlie Brooks 3.8514/5: Charlie hasn't been in the bottom two yet and her difficulty in coping with being away from her daughter is one of the most endearing storylines in the jungle. She's clearly a favourite with the public and gets plenty of TV time so there's no reason to think she will go tonight. However, soap stars have a very poor record of actually winning the show so I'd be wary of backing her to be crowned queen.

Ashley Roberts 7.413/2: The surprise package of the series, Ashley is just super cool and permanently happy. It's impossible not to like her and she's never been in the bottom two, which is seriously impressive for a foreigner. I must admit I'm shocked at how well she's done, as are most Betfair punters considering she was backed at odds of 95.094/1 to win the show at one point! She should make the final.

Verdict: Tonight's elimination should be between Eric and David, who have both been in the bottom two over the last couple of days. Given contestants normally get a spike in votes after being in the danger zone, I'd be siding with Eric to be eliminated tonight at 2.0621/20. He's clearly not polling many votes each night and the public have tended to side with the younger contestants in recent series of IACGMOOH.
