Sir Henry Cecil can strike with Beauty Parlour
Timeform examine each runner in the Group 1 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury...
Aljamaaheer was progressive last term, landing Newmarket listed race before good third in Jersey. Most unlucky in Group 3 at Goodwood and ran well when second in listed race at Leicester on return.
Amaron is a smart German miler who won a Group 1 in Milan in September. Good third in Group 3 at Saint-Clound on return but needs to produce a career best if he's to go close.
Chil The Kite is progressive, bagging 1m handicaps at Doncaster and Ascot before showing smart form to win listed race at Chantilly. Good third in Group 2 at Sandown on return though didn't look straightforward.
Cityscape improved when romping away with Dubai Duty Free at Meydan (9f) on return last year. Good placed efforts in Group 1s last 3 starts and obvious player.
Declaration of War has continued improvement for this yard, winning Dundalk Group 3 in October and making winning return in listed race at Leopardstown. Probably has more to come and much respected.
Farhh is a lightly-raced 5-y-o but still high class, winning first 3 starts before good placed efforts in Group 1s subsequent 5 outings. Big player.
Fencing has kept some top company and aquitted himself well on most occasions. Looked better than ever when landing listed race at Ascot on return and no surprise to see him go well.
Libranno was as good as ever last term, winning 3 times, including Group 2 at Doncaster in Septemeber under Fallon. Respectable fourth in Group 2 at Sandown on return but best at 7f.
Penitent thrived upon joining this yard last year, winning his first 2 starts (including Group 2 Sandown Mile) and adding to his tally in September. Not at best this term, though, and bit to find.
Reply was campaigned mainly over further last year, best effort when third in the Irish 2000 Guineas. Didn't go on from that and likely to act as pacemaker.
Sovereign Debt made up into smart performer last term, winning twice. Bit to find with Fencing on latest running, however.
Trumpet Major enjoyed a successful 2-y-o campaign, and confirmed himself smart when winning 2 Group 3's last year. Better than ever when winning Group 2 at Sandown on return and can't dismiss
Beauty Parlour won the French 1000 Guineas before second in French Oaks. Disappointed on debut for this yard when seventh in Sun Chariot at Newmarket when last seen in September but worth another chance.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Beauty Parlour
2. Farhh
3. Declaration of War
Timeform View: Declaration of War is worthy of plenty of respect but he offers little value given what he's achieved so far and preference is for Beauty Parlour, who was one of the leading 3-y-o fillies last term and can prove her first outing for Sir Henry Cecil was all wrong. Cityscape and Farhh are others to consider.
