Ayr plays host to racing on Thursday.
Timeform provide a runner-by-runner guide to the 16:20 at Ayr on Thursday...
The Tracey Shuffle was a dual bumper winner who won over hurdles here a year ago. Not fluent when second to useful Tap Night in novice chase here on recent return from break and will be suited by return to hurdling.
Simply Ned looked progressive when winning 3 times last winter. Form levelled off a bit since but has performed with credit when placed on 2 of 3 starts this term, albeit not looking straightforward on occasions.
Rockawango won listed hurdle at Auteuil in September. Much better effort for new yard when third in a tongue tie (on again) over C&D last time and unexposed venturing into handicap for first time.
Lady Bluesky added to her tally over timber at Hexham last May and successful twice on Flat here later in the summer. Creditable second in 2m handicap here early last month and likely to go well again.
Star Of Aragon improved to win 3 handicap hurdles last term and also successful on Flat in August. Not disgraced in couple of competitive handicaps in the autumn and sharper for a recent spin on Flat.
Embsay Crag is a dual-purpose performer who shaped with a bit of promise when back from break to finish fourth in Wetherby handicap on Boxing Day, but disappointing back at same venue since.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. The Tracey Shuffle
2. Star Of Aragon
3. Lady Bluesky
Timeform Verdict: The Tracey Shuffle will likely be suited by the return to hurdling after making a few mistakes over fences here recently and could take a bit of pegging back from the front. Irish raider Star of Aragon will find this easier than the races he's contested on his last 2 starts over hurdles and may provide the main threat.
