Betfair Ascot Chase Result: Card delivers right on Cue

Cue Card landed the Grade 1 Betfair Ascot Chase

Cue Card put his King George disappointment well behind him by claiming his first Grade 1 win over fences in the Betfair Ascot Chase...

Colin Tizzard's stable star looked imperious when winning the Haldon Gold Cup at Exeter but he had failed to see out the three miles at Kempton on his latest start.

Jockey Joe Tizzard set out to make all, but his mount was keen and did not meet every fence on an even keel. However, Captain Chris, who had moved up menacingly, made a bad mistake at the second last, handing the initiative back to Cue Card.

Kept up to his work, Cue Card stayed on well and ran out a six-length winner from Captain Chris. Ghizao finished third.

Cue Card is likely to contest the Ryanair Chase at Cheltenham, and he currently heads the market, trading at 5.24/1.
