Cardinal, a winner at 8.1n/a yesterday, kept things ticking over nicely for this column and we return with three more bets for Tuesday...

The Philip McBride-trained Harry Buckle (13:20) took his time to break his duck but did so in good style in a mile and a quarter maiden at this venue last month, beating next time out winner Syncopate by four and a half lengths. The four-year-old then followed up that success by winning again at this track, this time in a handicap, earlier this month, travelling well before striking for home two furlongs out, and he seems sure to go well from a 4 lb higher mark here. The thriving Focail Maith, who has finished in the first two on his last three starts, and Cayuga, who remains fairly unexposed, have to be respected but Harry Buckle is fancied to bring up the hat-trick this afternoon.
 
The following race at Lingfield is chock-full of potential pace options with five of the eight contenders marked down as front runners or prominent racers, and that could tee things up ideally for the George Margason-trained Woolfall Sovereign, who tends to travel strongly in his races and ought to be ideally suited by this scenario. The seven-year-old was better than ever when winning on New Year's Day in a similar event run at a strong pace, beating Dorback by a length, and he really is difficult to oppose here with circumstances seeming to be very much in his favour.

Our final selection goes in the 16:40 at Wolverhampton, a class four handicap over one mile, one and a half furlongs. Plenty of the participants have crossed swords in recent weeks, as is the tendency on the all-weather, but the Reg Hollinshead-trained One Scoop Or Two is fancied to emerge on top here following a good effort in defeat a week ago. The seven-year-old scored over C&D in October in a competitive handicap and, despite running slightly below form on his next start, has got back on track on the last two occasions, finishing third and second, and he is of serious interest here as he seeks to go one better.
