Follow The Money: No clowning around for Circus backers today

Welcome to Follow The Money where our three selection can be found at Kempton and Lingfield...

We start at Kempton for our first selection which comes in the 14:15 in the shape of Pearl Swan who has had decent support shortening from 2.568/5 in to 2.0421/20. This is his first start of the season and if repeating his form of last season he should go close. He won first time up in a Novice Hurdle then followed that up with a win in Grade 2 beating fellow Champion Hurdle contender Grumeti and despite being demoted to second by the stewards it was still a good effort. His final start last season saw him fall in the Triumph Hurdle just as he was closing in on the leaders. This run is probably going to be needed and he is up against some interesting rivals but he looks to have a bit of class and that could be enough to see him get his head in front today.

Staying at Kempton and in the 15:25 Themilanhorse has eased in the betting and is now available around the 3.55/2 mark having been 2.767/4 early doors. He had a great spell last season winning four on the trot between December and April then ran with credit to finish second in a class 2 handicap at Aintree on his final start last season. He reappeared this season in a listed event at Cheltenham's open meeting but did not enjoy the soft conditions and ended up tailed off. He is better than that and this sounder surface should help but there are a few of his rivals with similar if not better form and whilst he should be thereabouts a couple of his rivals may prove a bit better today.

For our final selection we go to Lingfield and in the 1m2f Maiden at 15:40 there has been strong support for Moscow Circus who has come in to 4.03/1 from 8.615/2. This Mark Johnston colt has his second run today having only finished seventh on his debut 11 days ago. He looked in need of the experience that day and should come on for that effort. The extra furlong today should suit on pedigree and the form of some of his rivals is hardly daunting and if learning from his debut run, which the market suggest he may have done then an improved looks on the cards today.
