A class 4 handicap at Kempton comes under the microscope
Timeform provide a runner-by-runner guide to an interesting class 4 handicap at Kempton...
English Summer has been consistent since tongue tied, winning for third time in last 4 starts when beating Tingo In The Tail a length over C&D on Thursday. Another 7 lb higher but hard to rule out. NON RUNNER.
Wildomar has been in cracking form on AW this winter, winning twice over this trip towards end of 2012 and just as good when runner-up last twice. Seemingly just stretched by 2m last time and drop back to 1m ideal.
Gaelic Silver was a useful performer for Jean-Claude Rouget in 2009 and also a winning chaser in France for Guy Cherel. Struggled over jumps for this yard and fared little better back on Flat here recently.
Noguchi has been very lightly raced in recent years but has now posted a couple of good efforts since joining this yard, -length third to Noble Silk (Wildomar second) over C&D earlier this month.
King Olav won over C&D early in 2011 and also went in over hurdles later that year. Well behind couple of these rivals on recent return from long absence, however, and needs to have come on lot in short time.
Kames Park is an ungenuine sort who is going through a good spell, already successful in pair of 1m Wolverhampton handicaps this year. Not disgraced when fifth here last time and able to race off 5 lb lower now.
Brimstone Hill bounced back to best when winning at Wolverhampton in September, and in fine form since, including a second over C&D last month. No reason he won't give another good account.
Reflect won a 1m Salisbury maiden in May 2011. Not at best last year for Richard Hannon and Tim Vaughan, but back in better form for new yard on AW of late. Needs things to drop right but on fair mark.
St Ignatius enjoyed a most productive 2012, winning 7 times in all at up to 1m. Not disgraced when fifth to Purple 'N Gold over 1m here last time and he is 1 lb below last winning mark now.
Nave has not won since August 2010 but certainly on a workable mark at present and his recent thirds over this trip at Lingfield show he's in decent heart.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Wildomar
2. Brimstone Hill
3. Noguchi
Timeform View: Quite a competitive handicap. Wildomar will be suited by the return to this trip and is taken to resume winning ways, though the likes of Brimstone Hill and Noguchi hold decent claims.
