Sunday sees a jumpers' bumper card at Wolverhampton
Exciting chaser Hinterland is the main attraction in this jumpers' bumper.
Blazing Desert is a modest hurdler who was pulled up on his chasing debut for his new yard at Ludlow in November. Creditable effort in AW Flat handicap over C&D early this month, and repeat would give him place claims.
Call It On won a 17f handicap hurdle at Market Rasen in May 2011. Not added to tally since, but creditable third in Flat handicap over C&D late last month, and one to bear in mind with tongue tie reached for now.
Capellanus proved fairly useful on Flat/over hurdles for Edward O'Grady, and not disgraced on his first 2 starts for new yard of late. Ran poorly in blinkers last time, but no surprise to see him bounce back.
Hinterland put up a smart performance when an easy winner of handicap hurdle at Chepstow in October, and runner-up on all 3 starts over fences since, showing useful form. Holds obvious claims on bumper debut.
Knockdolian was a fair maiden on Flat but lightly raced and only poor over hurdles to date. Shaped quite well on chase bow at Lingfield early this month, but opposable here, for all yard does well in AW bumpers.
Street Dance won over hurdles at Stratford in May 2011, but form has proved patchy since, and well held on unsuitably soft ground at Ludlow earlier in the month. Others are much more appealing.
The Last Bridge was pulled up on sole point start, and shown no sign of ability in 4 starts under Rules.
William Hogarth won his maiden on polytrack for Aidan O'Brien, and no doubting that he has the ability to win a race of this nature, but ungenuine nature well established, and hurdles form is firmly regressive.
Zepnove is an ungenuine sort who went with more zest than usual when landing a 2m Fontwell handicap in September. Gradually lost her way since, though, and makes no appeal in race of this nature.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Hinterland
2. Call It On
3. Blazing Desert
Timeform view: Hinterland is a clear pick on jumps form, and ought to make his first start in bumpers a winning one. Call It On and Blazing Desert come here on the back of in-frame efforts over C&D on the Flat, and are taken to fill the places.
