All three of today's bets go at Kempton.

The action at Kempton comes under scrutiny on Thursday, with all three SmartPlays running at the Sunbury venue...

Pastoral Jet, a five-year-old trained by Richard Rowe, caught the eye on numerous occasions prior to notching a brace of C&D distance victories in his last four starts. The suspicion is that he remains in good form having made his effort earlier than ideal when finishing third to Lord Of The Dance last month, beaten only two and a half lengths, and he has to head the short list here. Any significant support for the John Butler-trained Pipers Piping, who has been ostensibly disappointing for this yard but strikes as one capable of bouncing back at any time, would set the alarm bells ringing and Silly Billy looks to be on a competitive mark, but Pastoral Jet is expected to get his head in front once more. 

Teen Ager, Invincible Beauty and Compton Target are very closely matched based upon their meeting over C&D a fortnight ago, with just over a neck separating the trio; they all reoppose in the 17:05 this evening with the victor on the aforementioned occasion, Teen Ager, fancied to emerge triumphant again. The nine-year-old has often been held back by his tendency to finish weakly but, having come good recently and with him only having to concede an additional 1 lb to his main rivals, he looks the one to side with as he has the additional bonus of being handed a better draw to boot. 

Coup de Grace would have made plenty of appeal in the 18:05 but, with the four-year-old being a non-runner, The Abesnt Mare looks just about the best alternative. The five-year-old, trained by Robin Dickin, landed a trio of 2m polyrack handicaps last winter, including two over C&D, and she shaped as if she were in good form in three starts towards the end of last year. She remains 3 lb above her last winning mark further success if far from being out of the equation, particularly if a couple of the possible pace-setters ensure a decent gallop.
