Thursday's Timeform Daily comes from Lingfield
Timeform bring you a runner-by-runner guide to a 10-furlong handicap at Lingfield...
Cayuga is well-bred and improved to win 1m turf handicap here in August for Sir Michael Stoute. Better still when collared on the line in C&D event for new yard last time, and one to keep on side.
Ajeeb held his form in handicaps after late return in 2012, and -length third in C&D event last time in which Cayuga was second. Better off at weights now, and little to choose between the pair.
Wilfred Pickles excelled on polytrack in 2011, but no impact in 3 runs last year, and readily held by Cayuga and Ajeeb on latest C&D form.
Sheila's Buddy produced a career-best effort when narrowly scoring in a C&D handicap in November, and was out of his depth in listed company here last time. Should bounce back, but may prove vulnerable from current mark.
John Lightbody looked like a useful prospect when winning a 7f maiden at Sandown on 2-y-o debut, but well held in 2 subsequent runs that year. Off since, but connections have kept the faith, and market will be revealing.
Harry Buckle took plenty of time to break his duck, but hard not to be taken by the style of his C&D maiden win last time, and runner-up has scored since. Not taken lightly back in a handicap.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Harry Buckle
2. Cayuga
3. Ajeeb
Timeform View: A tightly-knit contest, but Harry Buckle finally got his act together last time, and looks capable of following up with his mark unchanged. Cayuga and Ajeeb are closely matched on recent C&D running, and can fight out minor honours again.
