Gordon has two in action on Friday
With no National Hunt racing in Ireland on Friday, Gordon Elliott sends Formal Bid and Silverlord to County Louth to compete on the all-weather at Dundalk...
20:20 Dundalk - Formal Bid
He ran reasonably well at Wolverhampton when third of 12 runners back in November, but he clipped heels and stumbled here last time out early on in the race and ended up unseating the jockey. He tops the weights in this so it could be tough enough but, to be honest, it's very hard to say how he will perform as we learned nothing from his latest race. We hope he goes well and finishes in the money but it's a wide-open contest and a hard one to call.
20:50 Dundalk - Silverlord
I've said before that he's a tricky enough horse but he likes it here at Dundalk so it would be good to run into a place. He was sixth (of 14 runners) in a handicap here last time out but in fairness, they were tightly grouped and he was actually only around four lengths off the winner. Again, it looks a tricky enough race but he should be in with an each-way chance. We'll see how they get on but after these races, we will probably give both horses a break for a while.
