Wasps boss Dai Young
Simon Mail makes his betting.betfair debut as he previews this weekend's live Aviva Premiership action, and our man fancies the Wasps to put in another stinging performance at home to Bath on Sunday...
Worcester v Leicester
Leicester Tigers appear to be running into ominous form as the Premiership enters the second half of the season and this could spell a rare home defeat for Worcester. Richard Cockerill's side have yet to hit top gear but have quietly gone about their business notching five consecutive victories.
This has put them in third place just two points behind leaders Harlequins and they have the second best away record in the top flight. Leicester tend to improve during the latter stages of the competition so a top-two finish is still well within their sights.
Worcester suffered a defeat at bottom side Sale Sharks in their last outing but Richard Hill's side have been a much stronger outfit at home where they have not lost since the opening day of the season against Bath. The Warriors are a well drilled team but will still have their work cut out to keep Leicester at bay.
In the previous meeting earlier in the season, Leicester battled to a 34-26 win and they have also won on their last four visits to Sixways. The Tigers are boosted by the return, after nine months out injured, of Tom Croft and it is hard to look beyond an away victory at 1.4740/85.
Recommended Bet: Back Leicester to win at 1.4740/85
Exeter v Northampton
This looks like it will be a very close battle but home advantage could prove decisive at Sandy Park. The Chiefs have the best home record of any side in the competition having taken 24 points from their six matches. Exeter have not lost there in the Premiership since being beaten by this weekend's opponents at the end of last season but the result could go the other way this time.
The Saints missed the chance to snatch victory over Saracens last weekend after Stephen Myler's last-gasp penalty struck the post. Jim Mallinder's side, who have lost their last two games, are currently just one point ahead of Exeter and lacking inspiration after slipping down the table. Four defeats in their last five outings suggests Exeter could be playing them at a good time.
The Chiefs are a very difficult team to beat with just one defeat in their last nine games. Exeter were held 12-12 at home to Bath in their last match and another low scoring encounter looks to be on the cards this weekend. Five of the Chiefs' last six matches have been decided by seven points or less while three of the Saints' last four games have been within two points so another tight match is expected.
Recommended Bet: Back Exeter to win by under 12.5 points at 1.564/7 or better
Wasps v Bath
London Wasps have won all eight matches played at Adams Park this season as they have dramatically improved from the side so fortunate to avoid relegation last campaign. Dai Young's team are just one point off a play-off spot after an encouraging run of five league wins in their last seven.
Wasps even picked up a rare victory on the road in their last game as they defeated London Welsh in Oxford.
Bath have had mixed fortunes this season and do not seem to be able to string any consistency together. Gary Gold's side have not won in their last three league matches and have only managed one away victory all season in their first game. Their defensive game plan is not getting the best out of their talented backline and they are a long way off being the finished article.
The sides met back in September when Bath managed to clinch a 30-23 win at the Rec but the tables could easily be turned in Wycombe. Expect Wasps to maintain their impeccable home record and see off the visitors on Sunday.
Recommended Bet: Back Wasps to win at 1.364/11 or better
