Plumpton plays host to racing on Monday.
Timeform guide you through Plumpton's handicap hurdle, due off at 16:10, on Monday...
The Red Laird won 25f Warwick handicap in December 2010 but very lightly raced since, absent after a lesser effort a year ago. Record fresh is encouraging, and this mark not beyond him if all is well.
Bamboleo is a brother to smart hurdler Mossley. In frame all 3 starts in bumpers, and looked well treated on last month's handicap bow only to turn in a moody effort. Application of blinkers a good move.
Laughton Park was heavily supported when posting an improved effort to finish runner-up at Fontwell in April. Soundly beaten over this trip at Warwick the following month, and has since left Gary Moore.
Zouti matched level he achieved on opening handicap run when successful at Towcester a year ago (first-time cheekpieces). Worrying how little he's shown both starts since 8 months apart.
Maccabees is a quirky sort whose sole Flat win came at Brighton in October (flopped on AW latest). Found a weak seller to get off the mark second hurdles run at Leicester, and opening mark looks stiff.
Ashmolian was a dual hurdles winner in May 2010 before a 2-year absence. Solid placed effort over 27f at Fontwell in November, and better than distance beaten over C&D in January.
Al Shababiya was a modest winning hurdler here for Alison Thorpe last season but offered little for current yard. Plenty to prove.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Bamboleo
2. The Red Laird
3. Ashmolian
Timeform Verdict: Bamboleo is well handicapped on his bumper form, and with blinkers a positive move after a temperamental effort at Wincanton, he's well worth another chance up in trip. The Red Laird's record fresh points him to being the chief threat.
