Hungary triumphed 3-1 over Turkey back in October
Christian Crowther takes a look at Tuesday night's qualifiers to pick out three accompanying lay bets...
Lay Turkey to beat Hungary @ 1.758/11
Behind runaway leaders Netherlands, Group D is shaping up to provide a three-horse race for the play-off spot. Hungary lead the way in that trio of chasers, currently second, but only ahead of Romania on goal difference at present. Their hosts Turkey are very much the outsiders of the three, four points behind and in very real danger of being cut adrift. Although the Turks are blessed with many star names, they simply haven't performed as a team in the campaign so far, losing 3-1 to these opponents when they met in Budapest back in October. It's now two losses and a draw from Turkey's last three games on home soil.
Lay Chile to beat Uruguay @ 2.47/5
Neither of these South American heavyweights are enjoying the sort of campaign they would have envisaged at the outset. Both nations have squads laced with talent plying their trades in Europe's top leagues yet both are in serious danger of missing out on qualifying for a World Cup on their doorstep. Chile have been on a truly woeful run, losing their last four qualifiers. When the sides met in the reverse fixture, Uruguay flattened visiting Chile 4-0 courtesy of a virtuoso goalscoring performance form Liverpool's Luis Suarez, who notched all four. Fast forward 16 months and Uruguay's own form is also poor, though in Suarez, who scored once more on Friday against Paraguay, they have a real match winner.
Lay Panama to beat Honduras @ 2.526/4
There hasn't been much to separate these Central American adversaries in the past, as highlighted by their autumn clash, which produced a 0-0 stalemate in Panama City. Even though this CONCACAF final qualification round contains regional footballing royalty Mexico and the USA, results so far suggest their smaller Central American neighbours are going to construct very real challenges to see who qualifies for Brazil. Honduras have started the group with real authority against the supposed favourites, beating USA 2-1 before coming back from 2-0 down to draw with Mexico on Friday. It's now seven straight qualifiers since the Hondurans tasted defeat, as well as drawing a friendly with Peru.
