Timeform Daily: Lingfield, Monday 16:40

Monday's Race of The Day comes from Lingfield

Timeform look at this handicap on the sole surviving meeting in the UK on Monday.

Mount Abora took advantage of reduced mark to win at Newbury (9f) in August. Respectable placed efforts in sellers/handicap over 1m last 3 starts and one to bear in mind stepping up in trip/in cheekpieces.

Irene Kennet left maiden form behind to land brace of 1m handicaps at Kempton in January and better still when placed twice since. Has likeable attitude, which should continue to stand her in good stead.

El Libertador has been proving a model of consistency in handicaps here in recent months, finding frame for sixth consecutive time in C&D event last weekend. Suspicion handicapper in charge now, however.

Rodrgio de Freitas captured 1m Folkestone handicap in June, and best effort for a while when adding to tally in 1m handicap at Kempton in December. No show in 3 runs since, though, in cheekpieces last time.

Legal Legacy landed pair of claimers over 7f/1m here last May. Hit and miss on turf/polytrack since, and unproven over this trip, so probably best left alone despite career-low mark.

Zafaraban is a fair maiden hurdler who has been well held in 3 polytrack maidens this year, but any positive market vibes may be worth noting on handicap bow.

Cozy Tiger was progressive when winning 3 times on AW in 2010, including over 1m here. Lightly raced since, but ran better than for while when fourth of 11 at Kempton last time, and one to consider off same mark.

Polarity didn't show much in bumpers/2 outings on Flat for James Bethell in 2010/11, but has offered bit more in 3 of 4 runs on this surface for new yard this year and first-time cheekpieces are now fitted.

Red Mystique is a fair maiden who made frame on 6 of first 7 AW starts at up to 2m, but needs to bounce back from lesser effort over C&D last time.

Silver Six improved on joining current yard/stepping up to 1m, in frame on all 3 starts in 2012. Showed promise on hurdles bow at Fontwell in August, but below form in tongue tie at Kempton (2m) last month.

Our Play showed modest form on second of 2 starts for Barry Hills. Allowed to leave that stable cheaply, however, and has made little impact for this yard.

Rollin 'n Tumblin put up best effort in ages when ending drought over 2m here last month. Bit below that form when fifth at Kempton since, though that was still a respectable effort.

Crimson Monarch ended long losing run at Wolverhampton (1m) recently, but overall profile suggests he's an unlikely type to follow up.

Petersboden has shown gradually progressive form when finding frame all 5 starts on polytrack this winter, most recently over 2m at Wolverhampton, and likely to be in shake-up again.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Cozy Tiger
2. Mount Abora
3. Irene Kennet

Timeform view: Mount Abora is back down to her last winning mark, and steps up in trip after a series of creditable placed efforts in recent months, but the handicapper has shown plenty of leniency with hold-up performer Cozy Tiger, and with the booking of Richard Hughes catching the eye, he's narrowly preferred.
