Two of today's bets are in action at Wetherby
Today's Follow the Money movers come from the meetings at Southwell and Wetherby.
Firstly to Southwell for today's negative, where in the five furlong Maiden Stakes at 14:20, Bill Turner's El Duque has been easy to back moving out from 2.35/4 to a current 3.3512/5. With a promising fourth place under his belt on his first start at Lingfield the two-year-old gelding would be expected to come on from that run. However, the fibresand at Southwell can prove to be a tricky surface to act on. With two of his rivals bred to handle the Nottinghamshire track the lack of market confidence appears to suggest that the maiden status will not be broken today.
Now moving north to Wetherby with the 16:10, a 2 mile 6 furlong Handicap Chase where The Panama Kid has seen a lot of support moving from 12.011/1 into 8.07/1. Malcolm Jefferson's 9yo gelding progressed well in the early part of his career with back-to-back wins before recording a hat-trick of victories over the larger obstacles - though that was back in 2011. With conditions in his favour and a decent strike rate for both jockey and trainer at the track, the market move could point to a fourth win in handicap chases.
Staying in Yorkshire for the 17:40, a 2m National Hunt Flat race where Famousandfearless has seen a lot of support moving from 2.982/1 into 1.9420/21. David Pipe's 5yo gelding makes his British debut today after recording a maiden victory at point-to-point level over in Ireland last October. That form appears to have been franked as the second that day has now won over the water at Lingfield. This is jockey Timmy Murphy's only ride of the day and connections must hope the long trip would be fruitful, the market suggests this could be the case.
