Timeform take a look at an interesting handicap chase at Ayr on Wednesday...
Desert Cry was much more fluent third try over fences when proving far too strong for Kudu Country under similar conditions at Haydock (2m) last month. Of obvious interest again, despite subsequent 7 lb rise.
Kudu Country has taken well to chasing, recording second win at Southwell (2m) in February. Back to form when chasing home Desert Cry at Haydock (2m) last month, but work to do just to turn the tables with that rival.
Prosecco gained first win away from this venue when digging deep to keep Rossini's Dancer at bay at Wetherby (2m) last month, but further 7 lb rise probably enough to prevent follow-up.
Rossini's Dancer was much improved when a wide-margin winner at Perth (2m) in September. Solid efforts when twice finding one too good since, and ought to give another decent account.
Locked Inthepocket compiled a good strike-rate in 2012, making it 3 wins from 5 starts reverting to chasing at Musselburgh (2m) in November. Goes well fresh, but hefty 10 lb rise makes life a good deal tougher.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Desert Cry
2. Kudu Country
3. Rossini's Dancer
Timeform Verdict: Desert Cry found his feet over fences when decisively accounting for Kudu Country at Haydock last month and is a strong fancy to repeat the dose on the revised terms.
