Timeform examine the runners in a class 4 handicap at Wolverhampton

Timeform provide you with a runner-by-runner guide to a seven-furlong handicap at Wolverhampton...

Atlantis Crossing made it 3 wins for 2012 when landing 7f Kempton handicap in December for Jim Boyle and looked an unlucky loser over C&D last time, forced to switch before finishing well. One to consider.

Greyfriarschorista won 2 AW handicaps in late 2011 and landed pair of sellers here in the spring for Brian Ellison and Richard Guest. Unraced since latter of those victories and starts out for another new yard now

Silverware was back on the scoreboard at Ayr in May and has added to that tally twice since, landing C&D handicap in late-December on most recent outing. Has struggled off this revised mark in the past, however

Chookie Avon landed his third win of 2012 in C&D handicap in October. Better than ever when second in similar event on penultimate start and has run respectably in Lingfield claimer since. Respected.

Light From Mars was resurgent in late-2012 for various trainers, winning handicap over C&D in September (for Patrick Morris) and claimer on Boxing Day for current yard, leading final strides. Folly to dismiss.

Irish Heartbreak's temperament has been called into question as his long losing run continues, but continues to run respectably, left with a lot to do when sixth over 6f here earlier this month, and not readily dismissed.

Frequency is a tough gelding who resumed winning ways at Ayr (6f) in August. Not been in top form since, however, third in a 7f Kempton claimer last time. Engaged 1.50 Wolverhampton Monday.

On The Hoof completed the hat-trick of course successes with -length defeat of Silverware over 8.6f last month. No obvious excuse when only fourth next time, but there may be more to come now blinkers are fitted

Smalljohn is a front runner who was better than ever when landing brace of C&D wins in May/June and back on track despite being unable to dominate when fourth (behind Summerinthecity) here a week ago.

Summerinthecity was fairly useful at his peak and best recent effort when head second in C&D handicap last week, headed close home. Can race off that mark here, but he may be better at 6f, so is passed over.

Creek Falcon landed 1m Dundalk handicap in September. Wasn't in same form over that C&D 8 days later and has been absent since, though he starts out for new yard that is in red-hot form at present.

Cyflymder enjoyed a productive 2012, winning for fourth time at Musselburgh (7f) in August and has been running with credit on AW recently, so not one to write off.

Timeform 1-2-3:
1. On The Hoof
2. Atlantis Crossing
3. Creek Falcon

Timeform View: A tricky puzzle to solve with On The Hoof given a tentative vote to regain the winning thread after a below-par effort last time. Atlantis Crossing heads the list of dangers while Creek Falcon, now in the hands of David O'Meara, is another to consider.
