Evan Williams sends Islandmagee to Kempton today

We head to Kempton and Wolverhampton for today's SmartPlays.

The Evan Williams yard have had a couple of winners in recent days and they look to have a well-treated sort in the shape of Islandmagee (13:10 Kempton), who will strive to get off the mark in the opening handicap hurdle for conditional jockeys. After making the frame in a trio of bumpers last term, he has repeated that feat in a couple of outings over hurdles, shaping particularly well when third to Valdez at Plumpton last month. In the capable hands of Adam Wedge, who partners the stable's Court Minstrel in tomorrow's Betfair Hurdle, Islandmagee makes plenty of appeal off a fair-looking initial mark.

The winning streak of Pete The Feat (16:00 Kempton) came to an end when he could only finish third in Warwick's Classic Chase last month, but that was another career-best effort and even a further 3 lb rise may not stop him getting back on the scoreboard here. The form of his previous success in the Mandarin at Newbury received a shot in the arm when Relax, the runner-up that day, dotted up at Doncaster yesterday and though the in-form Venetia Williams yard will have another try at getting the better of him with recent runner-up Renard d'Irelande, Charlie Longsdon's charge can come out on top.

Dorothy's Dancing (17:30 Wolverhampton) won three times on polytrack early last year and took advantage of the handicapper's leniency to regain the winning thread at Lingfield over this trip last month. Given a confident ride there by today's pilot George Baker, she has only been raised 2 lb for that success and remains well treated on old form, so can follow-up at the expense of fellow last-time-out victor Whipphound.
