Civil Unrest (13:50 Musselburgh) is best when dominating, as he showed when justifying strong support over C&D on his return, (beating William Money, who reopposes) and it's worth forgiving him a flop at this track last Monday when running over a shorter trip. He will find the return to 2m in his favour, and should be able to find his rhythm in this small field. That looks crucial, and he can get back on track.

John Ferguson unleashed a potentially useful juvenile at Catterick recently in the shape of Ruacana, and that one proved too strong for Totalize and Docs Legacy. The vanquished pair meet again in the 14:20 at Musselburgh, and set a decent standard for a race of its type, but it's intriguing that Ferguson again fields a newcomer, and the ex-Mark Johnston inmate Modernism may again prove too strong for the experienced hurdlers. The son of Monsun gained a Timeform Flat rating of 91, and showed his best form when fourth in a competitive 1m handicap at Ascot in September. Gelded since a lesser run later that month, he has the right attributes for a prospective hurdler, and is worth backing at current odds.
