We're backing a pair of Pipe runners today
Today's Follow The Money comes from the meetings at Lingfield, Doncaster and Cheltenham.
We start at Lingfield in the 13:10 where Tanerko Emery has seen steady support, coming in to 2.35/4 from 2.915/8. Since arriving at David Pipe's stable, he's put in three solid efforts with two wins and a second. He was more impressive than his winning margin suggests last start at Sandown, and despite a 7lb rise, looks like he still has plenty scope to improve even further. Winning form on today's heavy going is another positive.
We move to Doncaster for the 14:10 where there's another David Pipe runner seeing support in Battle Group, who has been solidly backed from 10.3n/a in to 6.05/1. He ran well towards the end of last season when running second three seconds in a row. He's only run midfield in his two runs this term, though that's seen his handicap drop to what's now looking like a fair mark. He's certainly good enough to win this, and with the money down it looks like he's expected to go close today.
Finally we head to Cheltenham where in the 15:05 Rock On Ruby has been on the drift, going from 3.1085/40 out to 3.8514/5. It looks a three-horse race, and he has a victory over the market leader Zarkandar at this track. The worry almost certainly looks to be him having to make his reappearance the heavy going. Given the lack of support in the market, it might be best to let him gain his fitness before investing on him in the future.
