In the 13:20 Novice Chase at Sedgefield, Rose Of The Moon has been a negative on the exchange this morning. The money matched has drifted from 1.625/8 out to 1.855/6 which suggests there is a growing doubt whether this 7yo will make as easy work of this as he should. This gelding's three career wins have all come after a break of at least 240 days which suggests that he appreciates running fresh. He was a wide margin winner of his chase debut 34 days ago and if he can run in a similar way today, he should prove unbeatable. However, today's race might be a return too soon.

Marys Pet in the 14:00 6f Handicap at Lingfield has been a positive mover on the exchanges this morning. Backed in to 6.05/1 from 10.2n/a this experienced 5yo looked promising when running at this course over 7f last time out. He ran on well and clearly led after five furlongs before tiring in the final furlong and dropping down the field.  The attempt today at the shorter trip could well prove wise and connections will be hopeful of a victory.

Today's final selection Sleep In First runs at Sedgefield in the 14:50 and is a positive mover, having been backed in from 4.67/2 to 3.02/1. Today's debut for new yard signals a new start for this useful flat performer. His chase debut last time out was fruitless but that was a long time ago and the market support suggests that trainer James Ewart has worked well with this 6yo. Connections are hoping for a win.
