The Big Wednesday Multiple: Goals in the USA

Radamel Falcao is in scintillating form

It's that time of the week for the big Wednesday multiple as Paul Robinson selects a home win, an away win, a match to go over 2.5 goals and a match to go under 2.5 goals. Here are his selections:

Bet 1: Morocco (HOME) @ 1.66 (4/6)

Morocco take on Togo in a friendly encounter and they look a pretty safe bet for our home win of the week.

The Moroccan's had gone six games without victory before Rachid Taoussi was appointed as the new manager and he duly delivered with a convincing 4-0 victory over Mozambique in his first game in charge.

They will now be looking to get another confidence boosting win under their belts before their three tricky ACON qualifiers early in the new year.

Togo have the services of Emmanuel Adebayor again but even he is unlikely to be able to stop the rot of 21 fixtures away from Togo without victory. They lost 15 of those matches and scored just two goals or more on two occasions.

Bet 2: Scotland (AWAY) @ 1.6 (3/5)

Scotland travel to Luxembourg for a friendly match in a state of disarray after a run of poor results left the Scottish FA with no other choice than to dismiss Craig Levein. The likes of Gordon Strachan and Walter Smith have been linked with the job but it's Billy Stark who leads the Tartan Army tonight and I believe he can deliver a morale boosting victory.

The likes of James Morrison, Shaun Maloney and Steven Fletcher may be missing from the squad but with the promising Jordan Rhodes and the experienced Kenny Miller available, they should have too much for a Luxembourg side that were thrashed in their last home game against Israel, which was their fourth straight defeat.

Bet 3: Brazil v Colombia (Over 2.5 goals) @  1.72 (18/25)

Neymar's Brazil take on Radamel Falcao's Colombia in New Jersey, USA, and goals surely have to be on the menu.

We have two of the world's most sought after strikers, surrounded by an abundance of attacking talent, and Over 2.5 goals is an extremely tasty 1.72 (18/25).

Ten of the Brazilian's last 11 have gone over 2.5, with their last four scorelines reading; 8-0, 2-1. 6-0 and 4-0. Mano Menezes' is clearly taking all the games before the World Cup in 2014 seriously and he will most definitely be looking to put a few goals past his South American rivals.

Colombia may not have as much depth as Brazil, but they do have Radamel Falcao. The Atletico Madrid man is in form for both club and country and he has netted in each of his last three starts for his national team.

Bet 4: Northern Ireland v Azerbaijan (Under 2.5 goals) @ 1.64 (16/25)

Our under 2.5 goals leg is the one we've been struggling with lately, but hopefully Northern Ireland and Azerbaijan will stop that this evening.

Unlike the other three selections, this isn't a friendly and is an all-important World Cup Qualifier. The Irish put a disappointing 1-1 home draw with Luxembourg behind them last time out by holding Portugal to the same scoreline away from home.

Michael O'Neill's side will be desperate to put three points on the board and it's something they must do if they want to keep their qualification hopes alive. I expect them to keep it pretty tight and try to nick a goal or two, something they've tried in each of their last three, which all finished with two goals or less.

Azerbaijan have lost nine of their last 10 on the road, scoring just four goals and firing five blanks. They have at least shored things up a bit at the back though as they have only conceded more than two in one of their last half dozen.

Recommended Multiple
Back Morocco @ 1.66 (4/6); Back Scotland @ 1.6 (3/5); Back Over 2.5 Goals in Brazil v Colombia @ 1.72 (18/25); Back Under 2.5 Goals in Northern Ireland v Azerbaijan @ 1.64 (16/25); The Multiple pays approximately 7.52 (13/2)
