Gordon Elliott: Two runners at Cheltenham today

Gordon sends two to Cheltenham today

Gordon Elliott talks to Betfair about his two runners at Cheltenham on Friday; Carlito Brigante and Jamsie Hall...

13.15 Cheltenham - Carlito Brigante

I was delighted with his win here last month and he's putting in some nice work at home. Things didn't go so well at Aintree last time when fourth of six runners but it was only eight days after Cheltenham so perhaps it came a little soon and I also think the course might have been a bit tight.

This is a small field and we'd love to take some prizemoney home although I'm not underestimating the opposition. He's in with a decent chance but this is a very competitive race so it's going to be tough. Hopefully the rain will stay away as he wouldn't want bad ground.

16.05 Cheltenham - Jamsie Hall

I was quite happy with his fourth place of 20 runners here last time out as it was a pretty competitive race with some decent opposition. That came on the back of a good run in the Kerry National at Listowel so overall, his form is quite good at the moment and he should go well this afternoon. Had he not made a bad mistake three-out at Cheltenham, I reckon he would have finished a bit closer but he still ran on strongly which was encouraging.

Again, he's another one that won't want too much rain but he's in good shape at the moment, he stays well, and the return to three miles is in his favour. There's a couple of good horses entered but our lad has a decent each-way chance today.
