Monday's Race of The Day comes from Wolverhampton
Timeform take a look at this seven-furlong handicap for three-year-olds.
Maypole Joe came back into decent heart when twice placed in various company in December (including here). Below par when turned out quickly last time, so may fare better here.
Armada Bay's best effort thus far when third in a weak C&D maiden earlier in the month, but more required to get the job done returned to a handicap.
Frans Hals showed some improvement when a strong-finishing second over 5f here in November. Failed to match that back over 6f last twice, though, and stamina to prove now sporting cheekpieces on first try at 7f.
Devout easily bettered form shown in maidens when making the frame all 3 starts in 6f handicaps in recent weeks. Step up to 7f expected to suit, so no reason why she shouldn't be on the premises again.
Firey Sally offered no encouragement all 4 starts at up to 1m in maidens, including for this yard here last month, and plenty to prove now sporting various headgear on handicap bow.
Annalova showed signs of ability in sprint maidens last summer (including here), and market best guide upped in trip on handicap bow on return from a 4-month break.
Fat Bottom Girl made much more of an impact off basement mark when runner-up over 5f here in December, but well beaten on first try at 7f back at this venue 8 days ago.
Chelsea Grey hasn't gone on since her promising fourth over 6f on debut here in July, faring little better both comeback runs after a short break in recent weeks. Cheekpieces reached for now.
Jonny Wombat has been well held all 4 outings in sprint maidens, and something to prove now tackling a longer trip on handicap bow.
Lady Jean NON-RUNNER
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Devout
2. Annalova
3. Maypole Joe
Timeform view: Devout has done little wrong when making the frame all 3 tries in handicaps, shaping as though ready for a step up to 7f when third to a next-time-out winner at Lingfield recently, and has sound prospects of opening her account here. The returning Annalova and Maypole Joe make most appeal of the remainder.
